BATON ROUGE, LA — Louisiana Looking Up, celebrating its 10th anniversary this year, will feature Google Director of Legal Halimah DeLaine Prado as keynote speaker.
Co-hosted by the LSU Flores MBA Alumni Association and the LSU E. J. Ourso College of Business, Louisiana Looking Up will be held at the Business Education Complex on the afternoon of Thursday, Sept. 12.
According to LSU MBAAA President Craig Juengling, Prado’s expertise is critical to small businesses and expanding businesses. Her message, he believes, is sure to resonate with every attendee.
“Halimah’s presence at this year’s event elevates Louisiana Looking Up to an even more significant level,” Juengling said. “She brings a knowledge base and set of experiences the rapidly evolving regional information technology community can benefit from, and we are excited to have her as our keynote speaker.”
In her position with Google, Prado leads the teams of attorneys advising product development groups on Google’s social, marketing, philanthropic and experimental products and initiatives. Past roles at Google for Prado have included counseling and managing teams developing its advertising and user generated content products.
Prior to joining Google, Prado practiced media law and products liability law at Dechert LLP and Levine Sullivan Koch and Schulz. She also clerked for the Honorable Mary McLaughlin of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania. Prado obtained her J.D. from Georgetown University in 2000, and her undergraduate degree from Yale University in 1997.
