BAKER, LA (NBC33) — Council members from Baker and East Baton Rouge Parish are talking about how they want to improve the management of CATS.
There are three separate resolutions on the Metro Council agenda. One is a resolution calling for a Baker resident to sit on CATS' board; another would call for every current board member to resign; a third would put tougher requirements in place for future board members.
“We certainly don't want to micromanage the CATS system, and that's why we're trying to put together a professional board that can manage it as a professional company," stated EBR councilman Buddy Amorosa.
Voters in Baker approved the funding tax by a large amount last year, but haven't gotten any representation in the organization.
