BATON ROUGE, LA (NBC33) — A 28-year-old woman has been arrested on multiple charges after she allegedly hit a mother who was holding her child. She is accused of punching the woman in the face.
Officers with the Baton Rouge Police Department were called to the Fairview Apartment Complex at around 11:30 p.m. on August 9.
Over the course of the investigation, the victim told officers that Jandi Bourque had made threats toward her over the past few weeks. So much so that, the victim avoided walking anywhere near Bourque's apartment.
The victim also said that Bourque waited around a building for her and then struck her in the face with a closed fist. At the time, the victim was holding her child, who was also struck in the incident.
Bourque admitted to hitting the victim in the face. She said she did so because she felt threatened.
Bourque was booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison on two counts of Simple Battery and Cruelty to a Juvenile. She was released on a $6,000 bond.
