BATON ROUGE, LA (NBC33) — More Baton Rouge businesses are jumping on the food drive bandwagon, so they can help the Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank stock its shelves.
A local children's clothing store called Angel Britches started its food drive today. For each can you bring in, you can get 5 percent off "Melissa and Doug" brand toys up to 20 percent. Amy Waters, the store manager of Angel Britches, said when she saw the food bank needed help, she wanted to do her part.
"Today kicks off our food drive. Seeing on the news all the talk about the food bank was empty. I'm very excited," Waters said. "You know, we're local, we want to help our community."
Angel Britches is in the Mall of Louisiana. The drive ends on August 23, 2013.
