BATON ROUGE, LA — While the temperatures still feel very much like summer, BREC today released its Fall Program Guide listing classes, programs and special events scheduled through December. These activities are geared toward residents of all ages and as with all of BREC’s offerings are reasonably priced and, in some cases, free of charge.
Residents can pick up a program guide at any BREC facility as well as libraries across East Baton Rouge Parish. BREC will also distribute the program guides to students who attend school in East Baton Rouge. The guide is accessible online as well at the following link: http://www.brec.org/assets/DayCamp/2013_Summer_Guide_Final.pdf .
BREC offers classes for all ages including dance, karate, gymnastics, equestrian and fitness classes. Also included in the guide are outdoor adventure programs, golf clinics, sports leagues, programs for disabled residents and adult leisure activities. Parents will also find information about holiday camps scheduled when school is out of session in November and December, as well as a listing of holiday celebrations during these months.
The guide includes a feature on BREC’s new mobile playground called "BREC On The Geaux" which has delivered safe, structured play to children in housing complexes and parks throughout the summer and information about the tax benefits of becoming a volunteer for BREC.
