BATON ROUGE, LA — The Baton Rouge location of Whole Foods Market will donate 5 percent of its net sales on Wednesday, Aug. 7, to the LSU Opera, supporting music education on the graduate and undergraduate levels and cultural enrichment throughout the area.
The Whole Foods Market Baton Rouge store is located at 7529 Corporate Blvd., in the Citiplace Shopping Center. Hours of operation for the day will be 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.
“One of Whole Foods Market’s core values is caring about the community and environment,” said Whole Foods Market Baton Rouge representative Kristina Bradford. “We truly enjoy and value the opportunity to work with key community partners throughout the year. We are excited and honored to partner with and support the LSU Opera.”
LSU Opera, one of the first major university programs in the United States, has produced exceptional singers who have sung on world opera stages. LSU Opera annually produces two main stage productions, fully staged, designed, costumed and accompanied by the LSU Symphony, along with two smaller, staged shows and numerous outreach performance opportunities.
The LSU School of Music offers students one of the nation’s most comprehensive academic programs, with degrees ranging from bachelor’s through doctorate and countless opportunities both on campus and in the community. As one of the designated Foundations of Excellence at LSU, faculty and students are nationally and internationally acclaimed as performers, educators, and researchers.
