BATON ROUGE, LA (NBC33) — The Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries teamed up with grad students from University of Tennessee to study black bears.
They're hosting two meetings to talk about what they've learned. The groups looked at how many bears are in the area, and what they can do to help protect the bears.
The bears have been noticed in neighborhoods in the Patterson area this spring.
The first meeting is Monday August 6 at the Pointe Coupee Communication Center in Morganza at 6:30 p.m. There's another meeting Tuesday August 6 6:30 p.m. at the St. Mary Parish Courthouse in Franklin.
