DUSON, LA — Lafayette Parish officials are investigating a shooting that took place in Duson.
On July 23 at 8:53 p.m., Lafayette Parish emergency personnel were called to the 700 block of Third Street.
Deputies located a 34-year-old male victim who had received two non-life threatening gunshot wounds from a high powered rifle, one shot to the hip the second in his leg.
The victim reported that while standing outside his home on Third Street, a vehicle pulled up; it was occupied by several males. A back seat passenger exited the car and began firing at the victim.
The vehicle used in the attack has since been located by deputies and is being processed.
The victim is listed in stable condition at a local hospital and the Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Office is asking anyone with information on the identities of the suspects in this case to call Lafayette Crime Stoppers at (337) 232-8477 (TIPS).
