BATON ROUGE, LA (NBC33) — The start of the school year is almost upon us, and along with clothes, pencils and books, you'll need your child's updated immunization records.
The Department of Health and Hospitals is urging parents to make sure children have all their shots before school.
If you don't have insurance or the shots are not covered, you can get you child vaccinated at any of the city clinics in the area.
Although shots might not be top of your list, they are just as important as anything else.
"Vaccinations save lives. It protects children, family members and other adults,” stated Dr. Marilyn Reynaud. We want them to beat the rush and check now with their child’s doctor."
