BATON ROUGE, LA (KMSS) — A new chief architect has been named at the office of State Fire Marshal.
Lawrence "Joe" Delaune has been selected as the new Chief Architect for the office of Louisiana State Fire Marshal today.
Delaune graduated from Louisiana State University in 1988 with a degree in Architecture.
Between 1988 and 1998 he worked with private architectural and engineering firms that specialized in commercial and institutional building types. He has been licensed as a professional architect since 1994 and as a Certified Building Official since 2006.
He has been with the Office of State Fire Marshal since 1998.
For the past several years he has served as the Senior Specialist and Chief Building Official for the office. His specialties include establishing office policies and plan review procedures, implementing legislative changes that affect the office mission, preparing administrative rules for adoption, conducting training classes, evaluating unusual code applications, acquiring new technology, and various other duties.
Delaune has replaced Donald Zeringue who recently retired after 20 years of service.
