BATON ROUGE, LA (NBC33) — The USS KIDD will be celebrating our nation's independence for all to see tomorrow.
With music, food and mock attacks on the KIDD, as usual, there's something for everyone. It's the biggest fundraiser of the year for the World War II relic and organizers say what better way to celebrate the Fourth than with their crew.
Organizer Maury Frummond says it's all about raising funds and awareness to keep the historic KIDD afloat for future generations.
"The Fourth of July is a fun day, but at the same time we wouldn't have the Fourth of July if it wasn't for these men and women,” stated Drummond.
All the events kick off around noon and end with a big fireworks presentation on the deck of the KIDD.
