BATON ROUGE, LA (NBC33) — If you have old suits or dress clothes, the Louisiana Department of Public Safety and corrections wants to take them off your hands.
The Sixth Annual National Suit Drive is held throughout the month of July.
The Louisiana Department of Corrections teams up with Men's Wearhouse to help recently-released inmates have proper clothing to find a job.
The drive is accepting gently-used clothes that can be used in a job interview; both women and men's clothing is accepted.
They tell NBC33 this effort is to provide the released prisoners with the tools they need to succeed after jail.
"If they can have a suit or some clothing that they feel comfortable in and confident in, when they go on that job interview, they have a better chance of being hired," stated Pam Laborde with the Louisiana Department of Corrections.
If you would like to donate, you can go to any participating Men's Wearhouse location in Louisiana.
