BATON ROUGE, LA (NBC33) — A 24-year-old man was arrested for cruelty after a child he was caring for was treated at the hospital for burns and other injuries.
The Baton Rouge Police Department was called in to investigate when the 3-year-old child arrived at the hospital on Saturday, June 29. According to the police report, the child was suffering from second-degree burns on two fingers, a black eye, a bite mark on the child’s cheek, and multiple bruises and on his back and hip.
The child was left in the care of Wesley Moore for several hours on Friday. He told investigators that no one else came into contact with the child, but could not explain the injuries.
Moore was arrested and charged with Cruelty to Juveniles and an unrelated warrant for Simple Burglary. His bond was set at $50,000.
