BATON ROUGE, LA (NBC33) — Summer is heating up in the Capitol City and the latest weekly music festival is on.
For the third week in a row, musicians will play for hundreds in the Capital Heights neighborhood during a summer concert series called the "Summer Beat" concert sereis . It features local acts and local eats.
It's a new concept, but one that's already drawing hundreds of people.
Organizer David Johnson says he's only hoping it will continue to grow.
"You can sit there and have dinner, have a drink, and listen to some great music with your neighbors,” stated Johnson. “It's amazing.”
The concert series is free for everyone. It’s held from 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. every Friday night at 4264 Capital Heights Ave. It continues for another three weeks.
