At Pack the PMAC 13, the LSU women's basketball team picked up an elusive signature win. The Lady Tigers forced 20 turnovers and held No. 9-ranked Florida to 32.5 percent shooting in a 66-47 victory on Sunday.
LSU (13-9, 6-4 SEC) capitalized on its defensive effort by shooting 49 percent from the field and scoring 10 fast-break points.
Held to a season-low 47 points, Florida (22-4, 8-3 SEC) lost its second-straight game.
The Lady Tigers were led by Allison Hightower, who had 21 points on 9-of-20 shooting. Freshman forward LaSondra Barrett added 12 points and seven rebounds. Guard Andrea Kelly came off the bench to make two three pointers and collect eight points.
Starting for the fourth time in her career, senior forward Kristen Morris added nine points, eight rebounds, three steals and two blocked shots in 32 minutes.
Florida's leading scorer was Marshae Dotson, who had 15 points and 10 rebounds.
