BATON ROUGE, LA (NBC33) — With the start of hurricane season, the Louisiana Department of Insurance says you should make sure that you are fully covered today.
Louisiana Insurance Commissioner, James Donelon, tells us that there are three steps you need to make sure you take today.
First, you need to know what your coverages are; secondly, you need to know what is not covered; lastly, make sure you have flood insurance.
"While doing this, get with your agent and do an inventory of all your insurance coverages and needs,” stated Donelon. “Whether it's health insurance, long-term care, property insurance, coverage for your contents - your jewelry, your flat-screen TV, you name it - you need to know that you have enough coverage in place."
Donelon said those steps will help you know that you have enough coverage in place for anything that could happen during this hurricane season.
