PORT ALLEN, LA (NBC33) — Port Allen city council members have requested a temporary restraining order against Mayor Deedy Slaughter, but today, a West Baton Rouge judge denied that request.
Now the mayor and three city council members will have to go before the judge and plead their case.
The council members want the judge to force the mayor to pay back any extra money they believe she took for her salary and car allowance. Also, they want the judge to force the mayor to allow the city's CFO to access the city's checking account.
The court date is set for July 2.
