BATON ROUGE, LA (NBC33) — Bloomberg recently published their best and worst lists and has ranked Louisiana as the “Most Miserable State" in the U.S.
The ranking takes in factors such as the graduation rate, which is less than 70 percent in Louisiana, and has the percentage of the population lacking health insurance.
Locals were shocked at the study and said that they want to help get Louisiana off the top of this list.
"I don't think that the ills of the community would make me want to move out of state,” stated Kendall Coleman. “I actually want to help the community.”
"I love Louisiana,” said Molly Bryan. “We have a rich culture - the restaurants, food, climate, great football team - and education is getting better day-by-day."
"I think Louisiana is a great state. Yeah, we have our problems, but there is also a lot of positives that the state has to offer,” stated Dr. Andre Bruni, “and I'm happy to be a resident of this state."
Mississippi ranked second in the list, right before Arkansas and West Virginia.
