BATON ROUGE, LA — Creative Louisiana, a monthly morning meetup for creative types, will hold its June meetup on Friday, June 28, 2013, at Baton Rouge Gallery, located at 1442 City Park Avenue in Baton Rouge. The featured guest speakers will be a panel of artists, Kelli Scott Kelley, Scott Finch, and George Marks, who have installations during the Gallery’s exhibit, “Under the Influence.”
The event starts at 8:30 am for coffee and mingling, followed by a creative lecture at 9:00 am, then a group discussion. Everyone is off to work or school by 10:00 am, and the event is free.
Exploring the influences on the creative process, we'll enjoy a three person panel this month at The Baton Rouge Gallery. Kelli Scott Kelley, Scott Finch, and George Marks will describe the relationships that mold artistic development and affect how we see the world in front of us. Our three artist panel is comprised of artists intertwined in influencing and being influenced by each other and others. The panel will be moderated by Swede White.
Attendees will gain an appreciation of the interconnected world of art and beyond, and reflect on the power of the influences and influencers in each person’s world.
The panel of artists have been selected from this month's featured exhibit at The Baton Rouge Gallery, "Under the Influence." Featuring works ranging from professors to students, relatives to colleagues, this collection of work allows audiences to contemplate the ways in which we are affected by those around us.
