Iberia Parish, La — On June 19, 2013 at approximately 12:51 p.m. Sheriff Louis Ackal advises that deputies with the Iberia Parish Sheriff’s Office responded to the 1300 Block of Marshfield Road in reference to an attempted burglary. Deputies learned that witness had reported a suspicious vehicle at his neighbor’s residence at the 1300 Block of Marshfield Road. The witness stated he observed a vehicle leaving his neighbors residence and was able to block the path of the suspect vehicle. The suspects then fled from the vehicle on foot. Deputies were able to apprehend the suspects and take them into custody. Deputies also located items on the two suspects that were later identified as stolen property.
Detectives with the Iberia Parish Sheriff’s Office, through further investigation, were able link the two suspects to another burglary that occurred in the area of Parc Perdue Subdivision in Iberia Parish. Detectives believe the suspects are possibly responsible for numerous burglaries in Iberia Parish.
Detectives also arrested a third suspect believed to be associated with the initial suspects. Detectives located John Richard, 36, at the 3500 Block of Coulee Road, Iberia Parish. During the investigation, detectives located illegal narcotics in Richards’s possession.
Erika Chapman,24, was charged with Simple Battery and Simple Burglary. Jerry Rogers, 24, was charged with Simple Burglary. John Richard, 36, was charged with Intent to Distribute Schedule I Narcotics and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
