Gonzales, La (The Creole) — Adverse weather conditions caused a driver to take a curve wrong and plunge into New River in Gonzales.
According to our news partners at The Creole , The Gonzales Fire Department was on the scene of the one-vehicle accident today at New River Street and Coontrap Road.
The Fire Department received the call shortly after noon today.
“We arrived on scene and secured a wench cable onto a bulldozer that was being pulled by the truck on a trailer,” sated Gonzales Fire Chief Tracey Normand. "We launched our small rescue raft and extracted the driver through the passenger window of the truck, administered medical assistance, and he was transferred to St. Elizabeth Hospital.”
