Baton Rouge, La (NBC33) — It’s finally finished - the six lane expansion on I-10 from Highland to Siegen Lane.
After months of delays and constant work, the six lanes are open.
DOTD also announced that they intent to expand I-10 all the way to LA-22. They will also be expanding I-12 from Walker to Satsuma.
Juban Road to Walker is expected to be completed by summer of 2013.
Everyone involved in the Geaux Wider project says it’s a huge accomplishment for not only the city, but the state of Louisiana.
"These are projects that very much work in conjunction with one another, and together, are targeted at cleaning up traffic and bottlenecks across the areas that need the relief the most," stated Mayor Kip Holden.
DOTD said that even though the lanes are open, some overnight closures can be expected for last-minute adjustments.
