ASCENSION PARISH, LA — Dancing for a Cause is back for 2013 with a line-up of celebrity dancers already in rehearsals.
Partnered with professional dancers from throughout the Greater Baton Rouge area, 11 celebrity dancers will take to the stage on July 13 to raise funds for The ARC of East Ascension, a non-profit group raising awareness and enhancing the quality of life for those people with disabilities and their families through services and advocacy that support choice, independence and dignity.
Held at the Lamar-Dixon Exposition Center Trademart Building, the event takes place at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 13.
This year’s dancers include: State Fire Marshall Butch Browning, Attorney and Cosmopolitan Man of the Year Ryan Chenevert, Rubicon’s own Mark Dearman, Postlethwaite and Netterville’s Sally Diez, Kyle Hanna and Allison Hudson with the Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office, Gwen Price with the Ascension Parish School Board, Attorney Matt Pryor, Toni Schexnaydre, Marian Walsworth with Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center, and Dr. Dawn Zitman.
This year’s honorary chairperson is 23rd Judicial Court District Attorney Ricky Babin
Doors open at 6:00 p.m. with events beginning at 7:00 p.m. Tickets are $30 and are available from both any LeBlanc’s Food Stores location or from the ARC of East Ascension office at 1122 S. E. Ascension Complex Boulevard, Gonzales, LA, 70737. If bought before June 21, tickets are available for $20.
