BATON ROUGE, LA (NBC33) — The victim of a shooting told police he was attempting to buy a dog when the suspect pulled a gun on him.
The Baton Rouge Police Department tells NBC33 that the victim of the shooting at the Bienville Towers Apartment complex had contacted a man about buying a dog prior to the shooting. He told police that he met the man at the apartment complex, and at some point the individual pulled out the gun and shot him in the mouth.
The 25-year-old victim drove to the nearby gas station located on the corner of College Drive and Corporate Blvd. at roughly 3:00 p.m. That’s where he called for help. He was transported to the hospital with critical injuries.
Investigators blocked off the gas station for several hours  while they investigated.
The suspect has not been identified.
