BATON ROUGE, LA (NBC33) — CATS has decided on one-half of its new management team.
The board voted to hire Robert Mirabito as its Interim CEO. He was recommended by the board's search committee after an interview last week.
Mirabito is expected to start in the next week. He'll make around $125,000 a year.
Mirabito will run the day-to-day operations of the agency, and the board says it will help him learn on the job.
"There have been a lot of things that have been done over the last 30 days that we can help him out with,” stated CATS board chairman Isaiah Marshall. “That's one of the very first things – to familiarize himself with the model that we see going forward."
Since Mirabito has no previous experience in the transit industry, CATS plans to hire a program manager to oversee the expansion and improvements it has planned.
CATS has been without a leader since former CEO Brian Marshall resigned in April.
