BATON ROUGE, La. (NBC33) — House Representatives are poised to take a look at the budget that was passed over to them by Senators.
The $25 billion budget still has some cuts in it, but Senators were able to add in more money than they originally thought they would have. They were also tasked with finding funding for the voucher program after the formula was ruled unconstitutional. Representatives have until Thursday at 6:00 p.m. to agree on the budget.
A bill that creates the Debt Revenue Collection agency is also scheduled for debate on the House Floor Tuesday. If created the department should be able to collect millions in back-logged money owed to the government.
