BATON ROUGE, LA (NBC33) — With just a few days left until the official end of this year’s session lawmakers still have a few big pieces of legislation to take up.
On Monday House Representatives will debate the last piece of legislation that would create the Southeastern Breakaway School District in Baton Rouge. The bill set to be debated is a proposed constitutional amendment and would need a 2/3rd’s vote to pass the House Floor and move forward in the process.
On Saturday Senators passed their final version of the budget. House members still have to debate and agree on the Budget before it can head to the Governor’s desk. They have until Thursday to do so.
