BATON ROUGE, LA (NBC33) — DNA evidence has linked a Baton Rouge man to the murder of a woman. Officials say the victim had a restraining order placed against him.
The Baton Rouge Police Department reports that Carlos Thomas, 37, was arrested on Thursday, May 30 for the murder of Amanda McCullough.
McCullough, 31, was found shot to death inside an apartment on Iowa Street on Saturday, May 11. Her last known address was listed in LaPlace, although officials say she was living at the residence on Iowa.
Officials say Thomas was already locked up in the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison for a burglary charge.
The Baton Rouge Police Department has investigated 24 homicides in 2013. Of those, 12 are still open.
