LAKE CHARLES, LA (NBC33) — A good Samaritan is credited with saving a woman who was allegedly beaten violently by her estranged husband.
The Lake Charles Police Department reports that the incident occurred on Tuesday, May 28 shortly before 8:00 p.m. We’re told it happened on the 3400 block of Kingham Road.
When officers arrived on scene, the female victim told them that her estranged husband assaulted her and caused her injuries that required her to be hospitalized. Her injuries could have been more severe, but fortunately a witness intervened and chased the suspect away.
The suspect, Stuart R. Taylor, managed to escape in the victim’s vehicle. He was later arrested by the Westlake Police Department for DWI.
Lake Charles Police additionally charged Taylor with Second-Degree Battery (Domestic Violence) and Violation of a Protective Order. His bond for those charges was set at $15,000.
