Baton Rouge, La — The CATS board is close to a decision about its interim CEO.
The two finalists made their case in a meeting this afternoon.
Robert Mirabito has a background in information technology, while John Conroy's history is in health care.
Neither one has spent time in the transportation industry. But the chairman of the CATS board says that's not a problem.
"In this interim, because there's going to be so much change going on, what CATS needs is someone who can manage that change and help us get where we need to be," stated Isaiah Marshall, CATS board chairman.
CATS also wants to hire a program manager to help overhaul its route system.
That person will have more experience in transportation.
