DONALDSONVILLE, LA (THECREOLE) — A taste of south Louisiana hospitality made its way to Moore, Oklahoma last week, courtesy of volunteers from Donaldsonville.
In less than 24 hours, many in the Donaldsonville community rallied together to gather supplies and donations for the victims of Monday’s massive tornado.
More than $8,000 was raised in the short period, and delivered directly to those in need.
Cliff Ourso, a State Farm Insurance Agent in the city, and Kenny Frederic, of Donaldsonville Glass, enlisted the help of the business community to round up the donations.
With a trailer full of supplies, they set up in Moore and cooked the south Louisiana favorite dish, jambalaya.
