Baton Rouge, LA (NBC33) — Today's thunderstorms caused structural damage to the C.B. Pennington Jr. YMCA on Old Hammond Highway. There was already roof work being done on the building when the severe weather blew away roofing tiles, creating a hole. Large amounts of water and some debris came in through the hole, damaging computer systems and paper files. Fortunately, nobody was injured.
The damage is expected to be repaired soon, and the YMCA released a statement saying that the facilities will be open as normal tomorrow, and all classes will still be taught on schedule.
