NEW ORLEANS, LA (NBC33) — Musicians are raising their instruments to show support for the victims of the Mother’s Day shooting.
The 19 Fund Benefit is being held on Thursday, May 23 at Tipitina’s (Uptown) in New Orleans. Co-chairs for the event include music icon Fats Domino, Wenell Pierce and Donald Harrison, Jr.
“The mission of The 19 Fund is to help victims of violent crime heal physically, financially and emotionally,” the organization said. “The 19 Fund shall provide a quarterly report on victim services rendered, to be publicly available and provided directly to all supporters of the Fund. Records shall be independently audited annually.”
The show will include performances by Hot 8 Brass Band, The Revivalists, The Stooges Brass Band, Bonerama, The N.O. Suspects Donald Harrison Jr., and the Congo Square Nation.
Tickets are $40. Doors will open at 7:00 p.m.
