BATON ROUGE, LA (NBC33) — Firefighters and emergency responders saved a woman’s life after her vehicle crashed and landed at the bottom of an embankment.
The Baton Rouge Police Department and St. George Fire Department responded to the scene of the crash at roughly 3:20 p.m. It happened in the northbound lane of Essen Lane between Margaret Anne and One Calais.
When emergency responders arrived on scene, the vehicle was located at the bottom of the embankment in the bed of Ward’s Creek.
Although the vehicle was not submerged in water, the driver had to be extricated. Firefighters then delivered the woman to the EMS unit located on the roadway.
The driver of the vehicle was transported to a local hospital. Officials say her injuries were non life-threatening, and she is expected to recover. No other information was provided as to how the crash occurred.
