MOSS BLUFF, LA (NBC33) — A 19-year-old was arrested for allegedly hitting two of his elderly family members several times.
The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office reports that the incident occurred on May 8 at a home in Moss Bluff. Officials say an 80-year-old and 83-year-old reported that family member Austin Lee Dailey had attacked them.
Investigators learned that Dailey had previous altercations with the two family members. During this attack he allegedly struck both of them several times and caused them injuries.
Dailey fled the scene after the attack. He was eventually located by detectives on May 10. He confirmed to investigators that he had made the actions against his family members.
Dailey was arrested and charged with two counts of Cruelty to the Infirmed. He was booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center. His bond was set at $250,000 and he was ordered to stay-away from the victims and have no further contact with them.
