NEW ORLEANS, LA (NBC33) — Fourteen inmates now face a nine-count indictment related to controversial videos  that shows drug use and other illegal activity at the Orleans Parish Jail.
The Orleans Parish District Attorney’s Office confirmed to WDSU  that the inmates will face a number of contraband charges.
The video was released on Tuesday, April 2, 2013 as a part of a legal hearing regarding a consent decree at the jail. In the video you can see prisoners snorting, injecting and smoking various drugs inside a jail cell. At one point an inmate is seen flashing a hand gun.
A second video shows inmate Arthur Johnson  walking free on Bourbon Street. He is seen talking with police officers and civilians in the French Quarter. He is being additionally charged with being a felon in possession of a firearm.
The final video describes the conditions  of the prison, which includes moldy shower rooms adjacent to where inmates were served food.
