One local woman is suiting up for a second chance and this time, she has help. Crystal Cooper has been sharing one professional suit with her sister for years, but not anymore.
Today, she got a makeover. It's all thanks to Dress for Success. The organization is known nationwide for outfitting disadvantaged women for job interviews from head to toe, everything from suits and shoes to jewelry.
Here in Baton Rouge, the organization is just getting started. Cooper is the small group's first client.
"It's a huge relief knowing that I can look the way I'm supposed to look," says Cooper. Tomorrow, she'll interview for a job as a sales representative. If she's hired, Dress for Success will giver her a week's worth of outfits.
"The suit is just the beginning," says co-founder Connie Hall. "It's a vehicle to change and to transition."
Dress for Success is just getting started and they run primarily off of donations. If you want to donate, you can email the organization at email@example.com .
While Cooper is the organization's first client, she is certainly not the last. Dress for Success only serves clients through referral. You can learn about this and more on their website by clicking here .
