Baton Rouge, La — After being undefeated in March at the U.S. Department of Energy-sponsored state Science Bowl, the Baton Rouge Magnet High School (BRMHS) recently finished seventh overall in the national contest.
The State Champions participated in the National Science Bowl in Washington, D.C., in late April. They were up against some of the best high school teams – 67 in all – from across the United States.
Their seventh place win netted them a “big” check for $1,000 that will be used to benefit the school’s Science Department.
While they were in Washington, D.C., the BRMHS team members got an opportunity to participate in seminars presented by prominent scientists, including a Nobel laureate. They also visited the Capitol City's historical landmarks and museums.
