DONALDSONVILLE, LA — Ascension Parish Sheriff Jeff Wiley reports the arrest of a 19-year-old Donaldsonville man on various burglary thefts in the Donaldsonville area.
On May 2 deputies were called to a residence on Bellina Drive in Donaldsonville in reference to an unlocked vehicle burglary. Deputies began their investigation and found Brad Cavalier to be a suspect after witnesses advised deputies he was trying to sell electronic items in the area.
As the investigation continued, deputies were called out on May 3 to a residence burglary on Highway 1 South in Donaldsonville where a purse and an Ipad had been stolen. Deputies believed that Cavalier was the suspect in this case and went to his residence for questioning.
Deputies searched Cavalier’s bedroom and found several stolen items and a large amount of cash from four different vehicle and residence burglaries in the Donaldsonville area.
Brad Cavalier was charged with four counts Simple Burglary/theft from a vehicle, three counts of theft, three counts unauthorized use access card as theft, theft from a motor vehicle, and simple burglary of an inhabited dwelling. He is currently incarcerated in the Ascension Parish Jail; his bond has been set at $46,785 by Judge Holdridge.
