NEW ORLEANS, LA (NBC33-WDSU) — A car hydroplaned on I-10 and crashed into a bus filled with students from Florida. The driver of the vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene, according to WDSU
The crash happened on I-10 near New Orleans. Police say three busses were traveling in the westbound lane when a woman traveling in the eastbound lane lost control of her vehicle and crossed the median.
The car crashed into one bus that was carrying 42 people. The bus ran off the road, but none of the children on board were injured.
The driver was reportedly transported to a local hospital for treatment.
WDSU reports that the students were headed to New Orleans on a trip to visit the zoo and other tourist attractions.
