HAMMOND, LA (NBC33) — A burglary suspect used a truck and chains to pull down the wall of a local business during an overnight burglary, officials say.
The Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office reports that the incident occurred on Sunday, April 28 at roughly 10:30 p.m. Officials say several people called the agency reporting that a wall had collapsed at Ryan’s Deli.
Investigators noted that the business on South Range Road in Hammond had been burglarized. Witnesses told deputies that a white pickup truck backed up to the front entrance of the store, hooked a chain to the front doors and pulled them down.
Once the business interior was exposed, the crooks placed the chain on the ATM and pulled it out of the building.
