BATON ROUGE, LA (NBC33) — The House Appropriations committee is set to tackle the biggest piece of legislation facing lawmakers this session on Monday.
Representatives will start to take up and discuss House Bill 1, also known as the state’s operating budget. Lawmakers have already expressed their concerns with cutting higher education and healthcare.
Last week the Jindal Administration announced a small list of programs they would like to see receive more funding, including putting dollars back towards woman’s shelters throughout the state and allocating funds for the Senior RX program.
The committee meets at 9:00 a.m.
