BATON ROUGE, LA (NBC33) — One local teen's love for reading gave him the idea to help others through books.
Saturday over 1,000 donated books were given to the O’Brian house for their new in house library.
This event was part of the Millennium Book Club which is a drug prevention program for the youth. The program has the hopes of getting them on the right track before bad habits begin.
There were also a few speakers who gave words of wisdom to members of the club. And the young Boy Scout who came up with this whole idea says he just wanted to help others.
“I think they will have a better education and understand literature more, I think they will be able to get better jobs by being more fluent," said Boy Scout, Jason Feready.
The O’Brian Club Library will support the millennium reading team and encourage reading for years to come.
The O’ Brian House is an addiction and recovery center in Baton Rouge.
