CALCASIEU PARISH, LA — A Lafayette woman has been arrested after a routine trafic stop led to her being charged with multiple drug offenses.
On April 22 at approximately 7:30 p.m. a Calcasieu Parish Combined Anti-Drug Task Force (C.A.T. Team) detective pulled over a car traveling eastbound on I-10 between Vinton and Sulphur for a traffic violation.
When the detective spoke with the driver, Emily T. Wallace, 31, of Lafayette, he detected a strong odor of burnt marijuana coming from inside the car.
During a subsequent search of the car, the official recovered a can with a screw type false bottom, containing approximately 2 ounces of methamphetamine.
He also recovered a small bag on her person containing approximately 2 ounces of methamphetamine, and 2 partially burnt marijuana cigarettes, along with a spoon, and a syringe from inside the car.
Wallace was charged with Possession of CDS II (meth); Possession of CDS I (marijuana); and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
