Baton Rouge, La (NBC33) — Former LSU golfer John Peterson is back in Louisiana after his Master's debut a few weeks ago in Augusta, Georgia.
Peterson made the cut in his first ever appearance there. The former NCAA champ says he may have treated it like too much of a vacation, but hopes to get back next year.
He'll be a crowd favorite at this weekend's Zurich Classic, near New Orleans, where he hopes to feed off the fans who will be cheering him on.
"I think it helps you focus,” stated Peterson. “You have all these people there who you want to play well for. Sometimes you can try too hard, but I don't think I have that problem. I feel more spurred on by them. I want to play well for them."
Peterson will play at the Baton Rouge Zurich Classic Pro-Am at the University Club on Wednesday.
The Zurich Classic starts Thursday.
