WALKER (WVLA) - City Officials in Walker will consider revamping the alcohol law in the coming weeks.
The first information session was held Monday.
It was led by Mayor Bobby Font.
Right now, any liquor stronger than 6 percent can't be bought in the city.
Now, there's a grass roots effort to try to get that law thrown out.
Organizers say there are plenty of restaurants that want to open up in Walker, but won't, as long as that 6 percent law is around.
Opponents argue that alcohol causes crime, drunk driving, and a list of problems.
Another information session is set for Tuesday night.
Voters will decide on the proposasl October 2nd.
