Orlando Magic Forward and former LSU basketball standout Brandon Bass held a party for kids in his old neighborhood Saturday afternoon. The party was held in Progress Park and featured a space walk, a DJ, and lots of prizes and give aways.
Bass handed out hundreds of backpacks to the kids; pink for little girls and black for the boys. He says the kids inspire him to continue to succeed, so he can continue to have events especially for them.
He has hosted several programs for kids throughout the summer. Bass' Reach Back Foundation has had a bowling tournament, parties, and several basketball camps all aimed at helping underprivileged youth in the Capital City.
