Baton Rouge, La (NBC33) — At Dutchtown High School, a top recruit signed her letter of intent to swim for the Navy.
Alyssa Dilldine will spend the next nine years of her live at the Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland.
The state champion swimmer says she's ready for the big change her life's about to take.
"I hope to make the 2016 Olympics,” stated Dilldine. “On the academic side, I want to succeed in academics, and I want to get into surface warfare when I go in command.”
She'll be leaving for the academy in June.
Before then, she'll have to cut a good bit of her hair off. She plans to donate it to Locks of Love.
