St. Gabriel, La — Authorities have arrested a man who allegedly robbed a grocery store and then attempted to fire a handgun at employees.
On February 22, 2013, Wardell Anderson entered St. Gabriel Grocery and Deli and approached the counter acting as if he wanted to cash a check.
Anderson then pointed a handgun at the victims and demanded money. After a brief struggle with the victims, Anderson attempted to fire the handgun at the victims but the gun malfunctioned.
Anderson then fled the scene.
On Monday, April 22, the US Marshals Fugitive Task Force arrested Anderson in Shreveport.
Anderson was charged with two counts of Attempted Second-Degree Murder and Attempted Armed Robbery.
