BATON ROUGE, LA (NBC33) — As the legislative session heads into its second week legislators are set to start voting on legislation.
Tuesday DOTD Director Sheri LaBas will address the committee on Transportation, Highways and Public Works about Work Zone safety and awareness.
The House Ways and Means committee is set to hear a handful of bills that deal with tax reform and a hike in the tobacco tax. Yesterday the Chair of that committee, Representative Joel Robideaux requested that all repeal bills be put off indefinitely in the name of fiscal responsibility.
A law that would prohibit the use of posting to social media while driving is also set to make another appearance on the Senate floor and should continue to make its way through the legislative process.
